The main work of my degree show was the video Déjà vu. In Déjà Vu the viewer is confronted with two parallel narratives told at the same time. A narrator speaks about a place far away at the same time that another place is presented visually; a miniature town made of wood and oil paint, clumsily made, strange and yet familiar. Déjà vu deals with estrangement and points to a potential space between physical and psychological reality.

Our coordinator for the bfa show, Maaretta Jaukkuri, also suggested that we present some works that had preceded our degree works so as to give the viewer insight into our working process. I presented two digital prints on canvas showing an impossible house of cards.

Both of these works relate actively to the tradition of painting, I was interested in making works that would be representative of several techniques or traditions at the same time.
